I am Andy Hemenway, running for Ward 1 council person. I’ve been a resident in Rochester for 40 years. I am an alumnus of the Rochester Public School district – graduating from Mayo High School. During these years, I was employed at several independently owned local restaurants. I furthered my post-secondary education and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. I’ve been a Registered Nurse for over 20 years, the last 18 years at Olmsted Medical Center. These experiences have helped me develop a great work ethic, interpersonal skills, and critical-thinking skills. They have given me the capacity to work in small groups in high intensity situations resulting in positive outcomes.
Throughout the years, I have been involved in the following:
- Boy Scouts of America
- Rochester Youth Soccer
- Rochester’s Youth Commission
- Rochester RN’s neighborhood biannual tree plantings
- Rochester’s Track Club
- Salvation Army
- 125 Live
I’ve been an active member of 125 Live because of the positive benefits it provides for me and for our local active adults and seniors. Did you know that they give over 90% of proceeds back to our community through bettering the facility for Rochester residents?
My family and I have made our home in Rochester. My wife, Erin, is an in-home daycare provider. Her small business has been serving local children and families for 25 years. We have a beautiful daughter, who we have the joy of raising in our community and watch attend the same schools I did as a child. We are proud to have built a life we love in Rochester, and I would be proud to serve as your Ward One Council Person. Please consider voting for Andy Hemenway on November 8.
